Set up the frame first: your shop, the modules for bouquets, deliveries and events, ready-made categories, and the settings that let you sell by the stem and track freshness.

## Before you start

- You have signed up and logged in ([first login tour](https://docs.smartposhub.com/start/first-login-tour/)).
- You know your tax rate for flowers, gifts and delivery.

## 1. Your shop

1. Open **Settings › Business Locations** and edit the first location with your shop name, address and phone.
2. Add a location for a second shop or a separate design studio that holds stock.
3. Check the invoice layout and numbering per location.

## 2. Switch on stems, freshness and lots

1. Open **Settings › Business Settings**.
2. On the **Product** tab, tick **Enable Sub Units** (bunches made of stems) and **Enable Product Expiry**. Set **On Product Expiry** to **Keep Selling** or **Stop Selling n days before** and type the number of days (for example 1, so flowers on their last day aren't sold as fresh).
3. On the **Purchases** tab, tick **Enable Lot number** so each delivery from the grower is its own lot.
4. Click **Update Settings**.

## 3. Switch on the modules

> **How to turn it on**
> 1. **Plan:** Manufacturing, Order options & personalisation, Website & online store and Shopper app must be in your plan (Settings › Package Subscription).
> 2. **Switch:** Settings › Business Settings › Modules tab, then Update Settings.
> 3. **Permission:** Owner or admin.

1. On the **Modules** tab of **Settings › Business Settings**, turn on:
   - **Manufacturing** (Industry modules) to make ready-made bouquets and vases in batches.
   - **Order options & personalisation** (Industry modules) for card messages, recipients and delivery slots.
   - **Bookings** for consultations and event appointments.
   - **Website & online store** and **Shopper app & Scan & Go** to sell online.
2. Click **Update Settings**.

## 4. Categories and brands

1. **Products › Categories › Import prebuilt**: pick **Flowers & gifts** and tick fresh flowers, bouquets, arrangements, plants and gift categories.
2. **Products › Brands**: add the gift brands you resell (chocolates, cards, candles) or import them.
3. **Products › Product fields › Import prebuilt**: the **Flowers & plants** group adds arrangement type, flower type, stem count, color, vase life, plant height, light, watering, pet safe and occasion.

## 5. Price lists for trade customers

Funeral homes, event planners and designers often get their own prices. Create groups in **Products › Selling Price Group** (for example **Funeral Homes**, **Trade (designers & planners)**) and enter group prices. See [Price groups](https://docs.smartposhub.com/catalog/price-groups/).

**Tip:**
Create staff logins for designers and drivers in **User Management › Users**. Drivers who only deliver need very few permissions.
